Pre-K – 3rd Grade Field Trips

A field trip to Echoing Hope Ranch presents a rich variety of tangible learning opportunities for students.

In our greenhouses and gardens, children gain a better understanding of where their food comes from while learning the importance of healthy food options in our communities. In the barn, students are given the opportunity to pet, feed, and interact with our animals, to foster a better sense of care and compassion for all living things.

About Echoing Hope Ranch

Our community at Echoing Hope Ranch is made up of many different people. We have farmers, ranch hands, mechanics, maintenance workers, people who work in the office, board members, direct care staff, and of course, the people we support: our participants with autism and other developmental disabilities. Seeing our participants engaged in their work and activities reinforces the message that those with disabilities can be a productive and valued member of our community.

About People with Autism

People with autism sometimes express themselves differently. While at the ranch, you may hear a participant make a loud noise or exhibit a self-regulating behavior, like hand-flapping, pacing, or rocking back and forth. Our staff is always right there to offer assistance, and there is nothing for you or your students to worry about. Many of our participants enjoy socializing and engaging with the public. We encourage them to participate, and while you’re here, a few of them may enjoy sharing their work and their interests with you.

While At the Ranch…

We’re looking forward to having fun, and sharing our work at Echoing Hope Ranch with you and your students! We take every precaution to ensure the safety of all visitors at Echoing Hope Ranch, and there are a few ways you can help. Please stay with the group at all times, in the areas set by your guide. Closed-toe shoes and a bottle of water are suggested for every visitor, and we ask that you stay on our designated pathways whenever possible. Sunscreen and other sun protection is highly encouraged.
